Six months later in may 1997 he was the winner of the Asia Pacific "30 UNDER 30" award from Susan and Field associates Hong Kong for being one of the outstanding bartenders in Asia. By this time he was already in-charge of the bar at the Hyatt and started training the junior bartenders there. Became a qualified departmental trainer for bartenders from the Hyatt International Chicago in March 1998. It was in June 1998 that he got the opportunity to set-up and train the bartenders at Djinns India first prestigious English pub at the Hyatt Regency. In July 1999 Yangdup left the Hyatt to start his own company of freelance bartenders called Cocktails & Dreams and started bartending in private and corporate parties. In his three years as a freelancer he had bartended in some of the most talked about parties in the city and set up and trained bartenders in a handful of bars and pubs around the country including the recently opened SSTEEL bar at the Ashok Hotel, Delhi. He is the Delhi guide to TULLEEHO.COM and have been working very closely to conduct workshops for professional and amateur bartenders in the Country. He considers himself more as a classic bartender rather than a showtender. |
