Amaretto Sour

Origins

It is believed that it was first made in America in 1970s when Italian spirits and liqueurs were becoming fashionable in the United States. The bitterness of Italian spirits was not popular in the states until the Negroni stared to hit off with the public. The Italian then imported a sweet, nutty and extremely palatable liqueur Disaronno Amaretto which became immediately successful.
