Eggnog

Origins

Eggnog the vintage Christmas Cocktail is made with two words Egg and Nog (comes from an old word ‘Grog’ meaning Rum) and it was served in ‘Noggins’ a type of mug. It was the British that are known to have created this drink in the late 1500s as a hot beverage because of the extreme cold. It later came to America in the 1700s and got famous.

Ingredients
  • 60 ml Brandy
  • 90 ml Milk
  • 30 ml Fresh Cream (whipped)
  • 1 tsp Caster Sugar
  • 1 no Egg

Preparation
  1. Separate the egg white and the yolk. Beat the egg yolk with sugar. Stir in the milk and whipped cream and add the brandy and refrigerate for about an hour. Whip the egg white and fold into the egg nog.

  1. 1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg
